Life After Hours

Life After Hours

Susan Sunderland lives two lives; designer by day and amateur dance enthusiast by night. Sunderland and her husband, Richard DeFelice, have traveled the national West Coast Swing circuit for the past ten years with much success. They were the 2015 Master Tour winners, two-time Rising Star Tour finalists, and 2017 and 2019 US Open Master Division Routine Champions. They are widely recognized for their entertaining style and elaborate costumes designed by Sunderland. In fact, the senior talent scout from “America’s Got Talent” came calling and asked them to strut their stuff in front of Simon Cowell and friends. Suffice it to say that Simon woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning.

A love of dance led Sunderland to her other passion project, raising money for the Maryland Alzheimer’s Association. Rick and Susan were invited to participate in the 2016, “Dancing with the Stars, Memory Ball,” where they won the coveted mirror ball trophy for raising over $117,000.00! Knowing that they could make a difference, they joined the event committee. To date, Sunderland continues to be the visionary and creative force behind the event, raising over $750,000.00 annually.
